Good AC Conversion Kit?
 

Hello - Would anyone have a really good recommendation for an '86 911 AC conversion kit (does Pelican offer one? I could not find it....)

There are three companies that offer turnkey kiks. Griffith, Rennaire, and RetroAire. Thery are all similar although I mixed and matched because they each have upgrades that are great. Rennaire has a procooler that improves performance, griffiths offers a high speed fan that works great to improve air volume... and the actual performance will depend on where you live. In Houston, they will all be marginal at best. After spending thousands, I have taken a different approach. Altho it blows cold its still not likke my honda or vw, so why bother.. instead, I drive my car from September - May... do my "projects" from june - August. Its really the only way. I actually took off my Ac recently because i really dont need it when i drive... and even with all the upgrades you can find its never gonna keep it truly cool in a Houston summer. Just my .02.

My car stayed cold in Austin this summer. 993 condenser in driver's side front fender(took out the battery box). Copper lines back to the compressor. Lousy skinny vents below the knee pads. R-12. Keeps me cool even on the day that hit 112.
