88-911 Seat Bottoms Soft.
I'm a new owner of a 88, 911. Car is in great condition. 67K The drivers side seat seems very soft and non supportive on the seat and somewhat on the seat back. I stopped at a interior place and they suggested new foam but I think the springs are actually weak. I've searched but can't seem to find a solution talked about. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks |

Hi, I'd try a re-post in the right forum, you posted this in the 911 engine rebuilding forum.

IMHO the stock seats are not very good, I suggest getting some aftermarket seats and put the stock ones on the shelf and reinstalled when you sell the car. Putting in Recaro seats was the best mod I've done other than rear sport shocks for track driving

I had a similar problem with the stock seat in my 93 964. Brought it to a local auto upholstery shop and was told that the springs and foam ("no crumbling there", he said) were fine, but that it needed jute replacement.
Left the seat for a couple days and is now almost as good as new. Guy charged me $60 or so.
