Chain cover differences?
 

I am trying to figure out which is the right chain cover for my car as there seems to be a couple of different part numbers.

Need a drivers side for a 78 3.0

Its a 930 part number, aluminum. If you have Carrera tensioners there is only one suitable part.

Thanks Bruce, there are actually two 930 part numbers according to the part diagram one ending in 01 and the other 08 I believe. Yes I have the oil fed tensioners.

Anyone else have an idea? Thanks

The oil fed tensioners for the left side are the update version that has the temp probe needed for your 78 application and the version used in the Carrera itself with the hole for the probe bossed but not drilled.
78 part# is 930 105 105 2R

One last question, is the hole threaded where the oil line for the tensioner goes?

That one wouldn't happen to be for sale would it?

No, the tensioner is threaded internally and there is an O ring on the part of the tensioner that comes through the cover. The connector from the oil line gets 2 crush washers to seal the oil going into the tensioner and the connector is the same as used on the pre 80 CIS fuel distributors.

Youre confusing casting numbers with part numbers
Casting numbers are the same
part number on Ebay is 930.105.063.01
same casting number but part number is 930.105.063.08 for the 78 with Carrera tensioners
I cant find the number for the Carrera without the sensor hole
