9MM Con Rod Bolts

Trying to get some good info on the spec on the torque for my 1985 930 rod bolts, they are the 9mm style, should I use loctite, are what type of lube.

I have read and researched different methods. Whats the best?

I'm staying with the factory (new) fasteners. The original one's held up like 27 years, also I don't think I have taken the engine past 6K RPM's it's fast enough.

Thank's

No loctite of any type and torque them to the Factory specs.

Re

Steve,

My Tech spec book/pocket book only gives the torque on the 10mm bolts, do you know what the numbers are for the 9mm bolts are.

Thank you.

Sure:

1st stage: torque them to 11 lbs-ft
2nd stage: 1 lb-ft + 90 degrees

You'll need a torque-angle gauge to do this and both Snap-On and Stahlwille make good ones.
