911T Rebuild stock or hot?
I am about to rebuild the engine in my 1971 911T. The car has low mileage and is completely original. I have reached the crossroads where I need to decide whether to keep it stock or upgrade the performance.
I am seeking advice as to which way to go if the intent is to do the rebuild, drive the car for a few months and then sell it on. The idea when finished is to have a car that is highly desirable on the resale market. I options I am exploring are:
Thanks for any input or advice |

keep it stock if you are planning on selling it.

I agree you should keep it stock if you are going to sell. If you are going to keep it, depends on you and what you like and how much will need to be done to get it running as good as stock or for any improvements. I had the same question 30 years ago and priced it all out and decided that the 90 nick c and 8.5 rs p that were cheaper than the original byril was worth doing. while in there put on webers a e cam and ssi. (had to bore the case obviously) the the only weak link is the non counterbalanced crank. My T crank was never a problem. Today, you can get 9.5 JEs and have a nice torquey 180 or 190 2.5 SS. To me 40 to 60 more HP makes these cars way more fun. You may never want to sell it with that motor. best Henry
