1980 3.0 SC Crankcase stud identification

I am having an absolute nightmare identifying 3 studs in a crankcase of an 1980 911 SC with a 3.0 liter engine, and was hoping that someone could help, and at least give me the correct part numbers, so that I can order them. Its complicated by the fact that in the exploded diagrams of the Porsche Catalog (PET) the pictures are really unclear.
The first 2 photos A and B, show the studs in location in the old crankcase (I am unable to remove them as they are seized solid!). Photo C shows the actual position the studs are meant to be in, in the new crankcase, and likewise with Photo D, which shows the location of the stud nearest the Timing chain.
If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated, as the rebuild has completely stalled at this point. Thanks for your time.
Thanks in advance.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1341387969.jpg

you have a good stud puller like a collet and holder type? Might be red locktite on them. very hard to break loose. all the studs are in the pet illustration 101-10, look on the left side of the case half for the studs. here is a vid. you might like.

James, Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately PET Illustration 101-10 does not really show these studs, it is quite confusing. On that illustration it shows pos 19 which is a dowel sleeve, and not the stud, at the front of the crankcase. In diagram 101-05 it does show at pos 11 a stud (and it says I require 2), which I am guessing are the ones I could be looking for, but I really would just like confirmation on that from someone before purchasing the items.

The stud near the timing chain I am presuming it is pos 16 looking at illustration 101-10 ?

many thanks.

Post the pictures.......

Please post additional picture/s of 4-5-6 crankcase halve similar to your first picture (1-2-3 crankcase halve). So you are missing the studs for the nose bearing saddle and intermediate shaft bearing saddle? Thanks.

I think the two long studs are in 101-05, part number 11 which is 930.101.174.01

The shorter stud is on 101-10, part number 16 which is 930.101.175.00

The giveaway is to look at all the other studs around the case and you'll notice they're all M8 size in the PET description, except for the head studs and the "loose" case thru-bolts. These hard to find studs in question simply have a part number and "stud" description with no size indication. So I can see why you'd be skeptical whether or not these are the correct studs you need!

KTL thanks for your reply, its what i thought was the case, so I will now try and find the relevant parts somewhere....easier said than done I believe.

Thank you everyone who contributed to this request for information.
