Biral is steel an iron liner, but it may have different expansion rates than the T. I don't have any experience with Biral. Do you know if clearances were checked on the piston and cylinders?
Did you do any case work, installing piston squirters and the oil bypass modification? How do the other piston skirts and cylinders look?

I have finally finished the rebuild. Most of the last 10 months were spend on waiting. First on the assessment of the damaged P&C by Mahle and then for the delivery of an identical set to meet the other 5 undamaged sets. Mahles assessment pointed in the direction of a bore-wash. So after the rebuild I focused my attention on the ignition and carburetors. When I hooked up the fuel pump I directly noticed a lot of fuel coming out of the right carburetor. After investigating a bit more I found one needle valve that did not close. So I replaced the valve checked the settings. And after checking the ignition and spark plugs I started the engine again. So far so good, the first tank of gas is emptied and I'm carefully following breaking in procedures. I hope that, with the miles driven, my confidence will come back and I can really start enjoying my car again. Thanks for all the tips and support and hopefully it is a warning to not take your carbs out of storage after a couple of month without a check as I did.
