hi guys, it has been a while since my last input, but eventually finished my engine rebuild. I have a 1988 930, k27, Albert,s headers ( required a little bit of work to install, but they are not too bad) had a bit of issue with them glowing red on idling and during driving, but once I got my Co2 down to 2,5-3, ( from 4) it all got back to normal , also have Brian,s adjustable WUR. I also ported the intakes up to 37mm, heads, and I know that the exhaust have been enlarged as well ( the guy who did this did not tell me exactly the size of ported exhaust) but the car is running really nice very smooth, particularly when cruising at lower speeds. Still fresh engine, only 500 km, so the break in is still on. But I have to say that you guys have been a great ( words can not describe this) help in this project. What started as a top end rebuilt, ended as full one (Wayne,s book helped a lot).now back to the main issue, I had over boosting problem, it would cut out fuel pumps at 4,500 or so, and I know that I have 1 bar spring, so something was not right, after reading some of your opinions I decided to put new over boost switch together with pressure sending unit, and eureka; the car runs fine again without stupid cut outs and when boosting it does not go all the way to the end ( I have after-market boost gage so it is pretty accurate. So I decided to cut this sender in half to see what was wrong, it made rattling sound. You can see on the photo the black arrow that is pointing at the culprit, small screw that was holding another small plate in place and of course this tiny screw went loose and did not hold that small plate as you can see on the right. Anyway happy to include my two cents and waiting for more cash to put a bigger inter cooler ( stock one sucks). thanks once again for all the inputs, you guy are amassing. till next time, cheers, Kris.

The Porsche 911 (pronounced as Nine Eleven, German: Neunelfer) is a luxury 2-door Grand Tourer made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. It has a distinctive design, rear-engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. The engine was also air-cooled until the introduction of the Type 996 in 1998. Since its introduction in 1963,it has undergone continuous development, though the basic concept has remained little changed.

ko930 - Your thread would see more action in the 930/turbo forum (as opposed to here in the engine building forum) . . .
