prepping parts for rebuild-OK to paint or powdercoat oil return tubes?

I'm still preparing a few parts for assembly on a 1978 3.0 litre motor. I bought new oil return tubes (solid) which look nice now, but I assume will discolor and rust in no time. Is it safe (as in no oil temperature rise) to spray paint or powder coat these four oil return tubes , or should I just leave them alone? Thanks for your help, regards, Paul

I would use at minimum a Radiator paint >1000F as those tubes run right above the exhaust and also high head temperatures will cook them. We use the same 1000F paint on the engine tins between the cylinders..

Powdercoat would be good in that application.

Thanks for the information as.....

I remember reading here NOT to paint or powdercoat a particular part (can't remember) due to it somehow causing the oil to rise in temperature. Given these oil return tubes location, figured it was worth asking. Thanks again, Paul
