Questions to Start

I am interested in building a carbed 3.0L with mechanical ignition to swap out my 74 2.7L CIS. I want to build the 3.0L up in the garage and the do a restoration on the car and swap the engines then. Just concerning the engine, what should my source engine be? I know SCs had 3.0L engines so I think that is what I need to look for. Really my question is what whould me WTB: post read to get me started. Thanks in advance.

You have to decide what your desires are for the car. I can tell you with the heavier engine you ll need bigger bars(25 to 26mm) in the rear of the car to hold up the weight.
With the complete 3.0 you can run the injection with the pumps in the car presently.
