do these numbers ring true??
I purchased a rebuilt 1966 911 2.0L engine and would like to know if these numbers ring true for the year?
Cylinder - 80ZD3 Heads - K1819B, R90110430304 Piston - 1030784 Distributor - Bosch 0231 159001 Alternator - D120 400 522 Engine No 900943 Does this all appear to be right for year? Many thanks |
The head numbers work.
Piston should be Mahle 80V37 on the inside casting Bruce |
Thanks Bruce, the piston number I had to get from the top of the piston using an endoscope as engine is complete. The 103 sits above an m and the 0784 is directly below the 'm' marking. The other marking is on the cylinder which is an 'm' above what looks like a three pronged crown???

You ll probably find the correct number inside the piston then.

Cylinder - 80ZD3 - correct
Heads - K1819B, R90110430304 - Correct Piston - 1030784 - should look like attached pic Distributor - Bosch 0231 159001 - Correct Alternator - D120 400 522 Engine No 900943 - A '66 engine should have a S/N starting with 903. S/N 900943 would indicate a 1965 engine http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1348490900.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1348490937.jpg |
Thanks guys, as engine is still together will have to try and view pistons from below with optics. Tom, thanks for date correction.

Thanks Bill, confirmed tonight with endoscope that i have the piston pictured above. Found the casing numbers which are 133/133. So it looks like a have a pretty original rebuilt motor.
