2.4 cams
My vehicle is a 1972 porsche 911, 2.4L.
Currently the car is bog standard.....except for a set of 40 PMO's and electronic ignition (123 ignition system)....otherwise as it came out from the factory. The car produces an actual 142bhp on the rolling road, so we are thinking that the engine is a T. However we are not sure....how would one know? we seam to have some valve bounce at 5700rpm...I want to change this and make the system better, as in bullet proof...meaning new cam's, new rocker arm's and new valve springs and everything else new ( please note i am not a technical person) but i want everything spot on. Talking to my tuner he suggested that I should get some mild cams too while in the process. What would you guys recommend? Thanks! |

how is it that "valve bounce" has been diagnosed?
seems highly unlikely a stock 2.4 would do that at well below redline my 2.7 has no such problems at 7500, with the stock oem springs that were in my 2.4 30 yrs ago you need to look at the engine type number on the case (911/xx) - then look it up in any of several books, i.e., Anderson, page 108-9, 2d edn also get the serial number - look that up in the Redbook, that will tell you what it is a stock 2.4 T would likely be typ 911/51 if stock T - get E cams from DRC or Webcam
