mechanic noies after topend rebuild sc 3.0
Hi
I got strange mechanic noies that I cant find the destination for. I made a topend rebuild after a misshifting and bend all exhaust valve's and three broken rocker arm's. The problem is that after couple times i got a mechanic nasty noies after a warmup. I shut down the engine and restarted the engine and noies was gone. Yesterday i got this noies again after warmup and it disappear after engine restart. No engine performance degred as could fiel. I have not drive so many miles. I have open the valve cover and didn't notice any problems. Any suggestion on what could case this nasty noies? It sounds like that the chain is touch the block some how after awhile and after engine restart it goes back into normal positions. Regards Tom |
Valve adjustment?

There was an account on here quite recently about a failed tensioner and resulting chain slap...
Go here, listen to the clip in post #63. |
Thanks for your suggestions.
But is not valve adjustment and dosent sound like the rattling sound in the chain slap. The sound is more like continues noies, and it disappears after restart engine. It's not so high sound and cant locate the source. Regards tom |
Post up a sound file or chase it with a mechanic's stethoscope.

Does it make the sound with the clutch pedal pushed to the floor?
