Clogged piston squirters??
I am cleaning a 3.0 case getting it ready for re-assembly and I cannot get any carb cleaner through the two "hard to reach" piston squirters. I tried the method in Waynes book with the fuel line in the through bolt passage to block the hole but still nothing out of those two squirters. Any suggestions? Do I dare use a small jet drill from the squirter side?

Seafoam in the squirter from the back side; let sit for a couple of hours and blow out. If it doesn't work, try again until it does.

I used a glue gun glue stick wrapped with some teflon tape to snugly block the oil passage that meets the through-bolt hole. Then, similarly wrapped the plastic nozzle from a can of carb cleaner so that it fit snugly in the oil passage that meets the bearing. Then the pressure from the car cleaner can nicely open and clean the squirter. I originally tried a bunch of other approaches and this was the only one that worked.

Thanks for the fast replies. I think I'll try a combo of both of those ideas. I'll let the seafoam sit for a couple of hours then I'll wrap the glue stick and the spray nozzle and give it a try. Thanks again.

Worked like a charm. All the squirters are clean
