Just painted and looking to rebuild the 2.7 with some power adders!

I recently just got my car back from paint. The car has a stock 2.7 with no pulled/ broken head studs. The engine is at 76,000.00. What power adders should I run to get more power out of this engine? What hp would come from those modifications? The engine is coming out due to oil leaks galore! The rebuild will start in a week! Who does the best machine work? I'm sure these questions are very common, I couldn't find a thread that focused mainly on a 2.7 I am new here and Just recently purchased my car back in March. I have read the book by Wayne and have a general knowledge on the car.

You will have pulled studs when you retorque.
Want more power, consider a 3.0, its a better investment.

I used ollie's for the machine work on my engine. Not the fastest, but they do good work. I'm told competition engineering does good work too, but I've never used them.

Since it doesn't look like you're trying to keep your car stock/numbers matching, I'd find a 3.0 and swap it in. Chances are it'll need a lot less machine shop work, and it'll be more reliable in the long term. Buy one used, rebuild it, and drive on the 2.7 while you work. Sell the 2.7 once you're done.

The paint is looking good.

I like the 2.7 and think that it is a great engine to hot rod.
My favorite 2.7 engine was configured as follows:

40mm Webers
9.5:1 JE pistons
E-cams
SSI's
Dansk 2in-1 out sport muffler

I would timecert the studs

Great throttle response and made all the right sounds. Raised compression, but can still be run on pump gas w/o twin-plugging

Never had this on a dyno, but, using my butt dyno, I estimate that this was good for 200hp or so.

That being said....I now have a 3.2 in my 73T................great engine.

That tail demands boost.

I really like the before combo...
