Blown 3.0 whats it worth?

looking to purchase a blown 3.L from my boss, we have 4 broken rocker arms. Ill have to do further investigation of anymore internal damage. I would guess between $500-$1000 would be a ball park figure for its value as is? Ive been working on Porsche's for a while, but I'm not very knowledgeable about prices for a used blown motor. any help would be appreciated.

propably just an over-rev/bent valve issue and the bottom end is still whole. may need a teardown, but at $1000 for what would normally be a $3500 engine, it could be a good deal.
