head studs on a 73 911E
 

I have recently begun the dissassembly process on my 73 911E project car.
I have the engine stripped down to the pistons. The head studs are all in tact
and everything appears original to the car. Should the studs still be replaced? If so,
which studs would be best for a relatively stock configured engine?

Your steel studs will be fine as long as there is no significant corrosion on them. Standard practice for a rebuild is to remove them and have case savers installed before reinstalling them.

Are the case savers used to prevent the studs from pulling in the future even though the studs seem to be intact properly at this time?

Magnesium cases are not as strong as aluminum...so case savers will distribute the load of the studs better.
It's one of those things that is relatively cheap to do while the engine is apart...and expensive when the engine is all together in the car and a stud pulls.

The stud shouldnt pull out of a 2.4 as there is no aluminum expansion as in a 2.7.
