help identifying o-ring from re-build kit
 

Need some help in identifying this o-ring, is approx 31mm OD, 27mm ID and 5mm wide, not a round type more of oblong. Kit is westwood and there is only one of these included so i am thinking must be for the crankshaft? What year? Looks like a thermostat o-ring or distributor seal, but the year would help.

power steering pump bracket into cam tower. 964/993. you should post the year of the car with your question.

Sorry about the year, is from a 3.2L lower Westwood rebuild kit, motor year is a 1986. I have identified all other seals in the kit (not the thermostat). I am waiting on a new dizzy, so I do not have this part to compare.

Could be for the distributor shaft maybe?

Must be the distributor, not having the old dizzy on hand was difficult figure out, but I am sure this I the correct seal. Moral of the story may be do not sell off parts you do not need until after the rebuild is finished! Feeling kind of stupid as this is common seal that needs replaced. Live and learn. Thanks to all.
