 Removing complete exhaust Hi Guys Its the 1st time I have posted on here, I live in the Uk Could anyone give advise to remove the complete exhaust on my 111k 1987,911 . At present it on my mates 2 post lift we have work on the left heat exchanger sheared two studs ,one nut has undone 1st we heated the nut then hammered it ,sprayed plus gas on . Help!!! |

 You need a torch that you can heat the nuts red hot then get them off hot. Youre going to have a problem if you try to drop the whole exhaust all at one time because youre going to bind where the exhaust inserts into the heads. Bruce |

 oxy acetylene torch, heat them red and wait until the allen head nuts go dull red before trying to remove them or you can round them out. i remove the exhaust as a complete unit most of the time. just support it so it comes down evenly. |

 Thanks for your help I have removed exhaust had to cut it up,will heat studs as you guys have said will need to use a stud removal tool I bought from Frost Restorations as studs are damaged.it they break off will drill them to 6mm and use stud extractor |

 old engineers trick? Heat and cool with water,spray with lubricant,heat and cool again and again if needed,the expansion and contraction breaks the rust and they come undone. |

 If the stud are sticking out, use a in-line stud remover.  Thank for the advise  all studs now removed only used 3 Helicoils. |
