86 targa door latch problem
 

My driver side door will not lock. I have the door apart and need some help. The door handles work, both inside and outside. Key works as well. I have two problems.
1. The level arm which connects the power actuator to the lock latch is broken. Not too bad of a problem. However, the horizontal lever which connects the manual rotary knob to the lock mechanism 2nd pic. Will not move at all. My guess is that when trying to unlock the door manually from the inside, the lock latch jammed and an over force caused the actuator lever to break.

Can the door latch assembly be removed from the door without removing the window channel?

Can the latch assembly in third pic be fixed or do I need to buy a new one. Dealer says they are 180 dollars and a 5 day deliveryhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1361399014.jpg
