993 Dilavar head studs reusable?

I know there have been numerous debates on head studs but can anyone tell me if used 993 Dilavar head studs part #99310117053 ( good condition) couldor should be reused reliably like steel ones?

Those are the fully threaded ones. Expensive and reusable.

Yes they are expensive, but in terms of reuse, I presume one should reapply thread locker on the second installation. New they come with a thread locking compound on the engine case side, when you remove them and clean everything up I would reapply the appropriate Loctite product or similar.

How long have they been in service and on which engine? I personally wouldn't re-use them in any application regardless of costs. If you have an aluminum case then I would recommend the Supertec or other warrantied stud... the cost of which is less than that of going back in with a shattered Dilavar in the future. I would only recommend new Dilavar over other material studs on a magnesium case engine when aluminum cylinders are demanded.

Best of luck,

Sorry to hijack a little - what did porsche use as standard on the 993? Mine are threaded at the ends only and have a greenish/tan hue.
