Distributor Conversion ~ 2.0L

I am swapping out my type 901/14 2.0L normal engine to a 901/10 2.0 L "S" engine. I would like to use my current working distributor with a new msd setup. I am unsure whether the core is transferable and what needs to be done to make this happen. Is this straightforward or should I plan on trying to find a different distributor? Any recommendations out there?

It should mechanically fit as the distributor bore is the same size but the curve is not as aggressive as the S. It would make sense to try to find an 002 distributor with yellow nomenclature plate.

Well, after searching prior posts, it looks like i'll need a 0 231 159 007 -’69 -’71 2.0/2.2S. The "002" is for a 67 S engine, a little different perhaps. I'll post something in the parts wanted. Has anyone worked with Barry at IAE for rebuilds?

I would suggest the link below. Top quality work with a reasonable price.

The curve of the 007 is too aggressive for the 2.0 liter combustion chamber and compression. Use the 002 instead.

I've had my distributor re-curved on my 1980 3.0 when I swapped out the CIS for carbs. The CIS was kaput due to a fire from the PO.

Barry Hershon did the work and it is excellent.
