993 Piston Rings

Just curious, but do all 993 motors use the same sized piston rings? In trying to install a set of rings today on a used set of pistons, the side clearance on all the rings checked to be under spec. That poses the question if all 3.6 pistons have the same sized ring grooves?

Hi Ernie,

All 993 N/A engines use:

1.5mm top ring
1.75mm second ring
2.0mm oil ring package

993TT engines have a 1.75mm top ring with the others being the same.
