warped mag case & line boring

Hello pelicans,

I can use some info on a warped mag case, knowing that there is (quit ;-) a lot of discusion going on what the best solution is.

I have a 2.0T matching number case and the engine is the last part off a 14 year full nut & bolt restoration I did, except the paint job, by myself.

After bolting my case back together (with all new parts of course my crank wass stuck, no heavy point but realy stuck
The dimensions I measured with a internal diameter dail without Nr 8 bearing installed can be found in the two uploaded graphs.

Now I read stories that after planing the mating sides of the case one can go back to standard bearings........

Questions:

1) How much should be taken of(planing) from the cases to have a good starting point for line boring?

1) I wonder if the connection of the oil passage between bearing and cranc case will still mate and not leaking oil. Not because the line boring but because the bearing seats became oval.

2) If I choose for taking of material by planing the mating sides of the cran case halfs, what to do with the intermediate shaft...? Line bores this one too!?

Any advice / suggestions will be highly appriciated!!
Best regards,

Bart de Bruijn

I had the same thing done on my 2.2 mag. case. I don't know the exact specs but material was taken of both halves and the crank and intermediate shafts were linebored to original size specs. Based on your name I could imagine you are in the Netherlands so I could give you the adress of the company I worked with.

Hi Heinz,

To keep it correct, I'll just continue in English
I am very much interested in that address!
I do live in Enschede, but the lowlands are a small country so it will never be that far!
Thanks in advance,
Bart
