1st time timing cams
Im finally at the point of timing cams on my top end rebuild of a 2.4l mechnical injection engine, with the indicator on the spring retainer pre loaded .400 ,engine a Z1 tdc and valve lash .004. when I rotate it 360 the reading is .094- .098 is this correct? my engine type is 901 101 102 4r forgive me if this sounds ignorant I want to do it right the first time. newby owner getting my hands dirty!!!

Have you checked the chain for parallel?
completely load the drives with the keys and all parts ready to lock up. With both cams in the up position and pulley on TDC pin both cams so they turn together. You need to know the cams youre using for the settings. The number you quoted is probably a casting number on the case. You should have a 911/xx number by the fan on the flat to the right. Bruce |

the cams are pinned with keys up at tdc, the # is 911/51 and the cams are stock 911T cams from the castings I researched earlier. |
