3.2 rebuild - same, euro or 3.4?

Have parked my car for broken head stud issues. Going to make it a winter project and am just in research mode here.

As I searched through the Pelican Rebuild wizard - I noticed some options for replacing cylinders and pistons - namely upgrade to euro specs or go for Mahle 3.4 option. When comparing the pricing obviously the 3.4 kit costs the most but I was surprised the Euro is about a $1,000 cheaper for more HP than the standard 3.2 Mahle.

Looking for some feedback from those that have gone the Euro option at rebuild - can you feel the extra HP? If its cheaper and gives more HP it seems like a no brainer even if the performance upgrade is subtle??

On the 3.4 option - are there any other modifications that have to be completed to go the route? I searched for an old issue of 911 & Porsche world where I remembered an article on a 3.4 conversion. Sept 2009 issue. There were a lot of other mods made to the engine at the same time - I just wonder if it really is a bolt on option?

Feedback appreciated.

A friendly bump for this thread, because I'm interested too.

I'd like to add to your options the JE 3.2 10.5:1 pistons for feedback - assuming existing cylinders are in good nick and are Nikasil (I think these need Nikasil?). They can also take a high lift cam.

I'm running dedicated 98 RON, and it is good quality and plentiful here, so not sure the conversation about twin plug is needed?

Cheers.

I have a used set of the 98 mm 3.4 Mahle Motorsport Motronic pistons and cylinders available in case either one of you is interested.
