throttle bobys

Hi

what is the best way/option to go if i want to put individual throttle body's on my 911sc?

jsveb 08-19-2013 07:14 AM

Search the forum ( itb) there are plenty to choose from.

Good luck

Trophy 08-19-2013 07:19 AM

"throttle bobys"

Are they the English version?

Lots of Options out there:
PMO
Jenvey
Hargett Precision

Other that make kits using mainly Jenvey ITB's"

Rothsport
9M

HeHe!

sorry i ment ''throttle body''
will have a look at above mentioned options and give an update

lucas911 08-19-2013 11:07 AM

throttle bodys aint cheap! but so nice

Trophy 08-19-2013 01:04 PM

Rothsport make a great setup that is designed for the 911 spec series which I believe is based on SC engines. The only problem they are very expensive and of course you also need an aftermarket ECU to make it all work.

roblav 08-19-2013 03:25 PM

2001 (or so) Suzuki GSX-R750 individual units. Set of 4 for $100. So need to buy 2 sets. 42mm inner diameter at throttle plate. Takes a bit of effort to convert but they are very cheap, very light, and very effective.

lucas911 08-20-2013 12:18 PM

Will have a look at Rothsport and see what direction to go! I have a nice aftermarket ECU system,
So I am 1 step closer

lucas911 08-20-2013 12:19 PM

Will also check out the GSXR ones out! Will give an update if I find something

Spenny_b 08-20-2013 12:35 PM

Triumph Triple itb's ;) ...less wastage, lol

lucas911 08-24-2013 11:24 PM

I find the perfect throttle body package! And it includes the ECU system and easy to install!

Will give all detail on everything soon, just want to fit filters and dyno

Jeff Alton 08-27-2013 05:03 PM

We have used Jenvey and PMO.

Jenvey have a straight intake manifold, PMO uses a Weber style intake.
Jenvey a pain to balance, PMO easy as pie.
Jenvey requires some adaptation as they were designed for a cable throttle, but it is easy to configure a rod set up or spend $$$$ on the Rothsport linkage.
We seem to make more power with the Jenveys...
PMO have the classic weber look....

I have another set at the shop I will post pics of because I can't tell who made them. They are interesting but have a rather oddball linkage set up that will need some work. We plan to use them on a 2.8....

Cheers

Ok, it must be time to give up the details.....

And I would take 2 sets of the Oiled Bodies, however, I am sure my heart would only handle a Single TB :)

Very sanitary install, especially for a newbie, but this is beginning to feel like a build up to a commercial.

Al

Lucas911 do you have any additional info to share about this setup? Anyone else find out what these are?

mreid 10-20-2013 03:47 PM

Ironic that the tuned boobies were posted by a guy from Beaverton!

I have PMOs on the 3.6 in my 1984.
