Anyone know whats in Reinz Cylinder Head Gasket Kit?
 
Amazingly, Pelican couldn't tell me when I called and suggested I post here! One rep said the copper head to cylinder rings were NOT included (based on squinting and looking at postage stamp image)... but I'd really love to know that for sure before placing an order.

I was going to post a review on the product that details it, because I was frustrated for the same reason and ended up buying duplicates of several items.

The 3.2 set DOES contain (off the top of my head, not comprehensive):
Cylinder base to case gaskets
Valve stem seals
Fairly comprehensive supply of aluminum crush washers
All exhaust gaskets
Intake manifold to head gaskets

Does it include the valve cover gaskets?

I'm presuming it does not include any gaskets that don't touch some part of the heads. ie breather, thermostat, oil cooler...

At the end of the engine section diagrams (page 76), there is a listing of "repair kits." First kit listed is the cylinder head gasket kit for 930.20/25/26 That is the 3.2L engine. The gasket kit tells you the part number of EVERY little bit that's supposed to be included in the 930.100.907.04 kit.

If you're not sure what a part number is within the kit? Type the part number into Pelican's search field at the top of the page here and Pelican's catalog will give you some sort of description what the part is.

I have and use the PET regularly but didn't presume that the Reinz kit is a replica of what Porsche originally specified. I guess I should have presumed that from the part number.

Trying to give back... I looked up and transcribed the list of gaskets in the Porsche PET. Presuming the Reinz to be an exact copy, you get:

Which begs the question: how the hell do you know what is what when you open it up?! Compare to old parts I suppose?

Presuming the Reinz kit mimics the Porsche kit is reasonable. If they're going to market their kit as alternative to Porsche OEM, they've got to be sure it covers what that Porsche kit part number is supposed to cover

This is the one thing I don't like about buying gasket kits. They dump a bunch of stuff in there to cover other engine applications since there's some obvious overlap in seals, gaskets, etc. on the Porsche engines. You end up with a bunch of spare bits that you don't need, paid for and may never find a use for!

You are correct that when you dump out the collection of parts, there's some old vs new comparing to do. Also you'll find some of the bits like sealing washers aren't as good as what you're taking off the car (if original). Some of the Reinz washers are way too soft and "smear" when you tighten against them.

I think I would call Henry at Supertec Supertec Porsche Engine Rebuilder
I believe they put the kits together specifically for your engine application (i.e. no left overs) and all high quality parts, i.e. green Viton o-rings.

Crap......

Our experience is that the gasket quality leave a lot to be desired.
Especially the CE rings (head gaskets). We ordered some in a pinch (race deadline) just to get an engine together and the quality was so poor quality that we just sent them back and put our project on hold.

It doesn't matter who you buy them from just be sure to buy Wrigthwood Racing gasket sets for all your Porsche needs.

Is the list of gaskets included the same as the Reinz kit?
