Head gasket replacement question?

If I pull the heads from a 1971 911T to replace the cylinder head gaskets, should I replace the copper cylinder base gaskets also, or will they reseal once I re-torque the cylinder heads without replacing them?

Unless youre heads are loose or were, there shouldnt be a problem needing head gaskets replaced as they sit in a groove in the cylinder and the flat surface of the head seals the cylinder.
In order to do the base gasket the cylinder has to be pulled completely off as well as the piston.
Youre doing a valve job?

base gasket replacement

I had to pull the heads in order to replace a bad cylinder. One of the piston pin circlips broke and allowed the pin to slide out and cut a groove in the cylinder. The other 2 are just fine, so I'm wondering if I can just install the new cylinder with a new base gasket, then install new head gaskets on all 3 and bolt the head back together without the base gaskets leaking on the other 2.

I'm kind of thinking that the base gaskets deform under load from torquing down the head bolts, and therefore, I should replace the base gaskets on the other 2 cylinders.
