Oil Pressure and Temperature Senders
I have a 1978 911SC and I am fitting 1973 oil pressure and temperature gauges as they have numbers on instead of just lines and marks, which I think is a visual improvement. Accotding to the manual, I should have oil temperature sender number 911 606 112 00 and oil pressure sender number 911 606 111 01 as standard on the SC.
I believe that the 1973 dials require oil temperature sender number 901 641 632 00 and oil pressure sender number 901 741 551 01. Having done some research on the internet, I have got mixed confirmation about this. The parts book shows the oil pressure sender 901 741 551 01 being applicable for SPM (Sportmatic), but doesn't give a reference for manual. Can anyone confirm which senders I need? |

On a 78SC you have a chrome temp sender. To match the guage you need the brass unit
On the pressure sender, you are going from a 0-5 atm on the SC to a 0=10 atm sender. To match the guage you need the large base threading 0-10 used on the 76 and 77. If you try to use the 73 unit the threaded base is too small. 76/77 911.606.111.00 Bruce |
