2.2 Engine Case Storage Question
 

Hi All,

I read in another thread that the 2.2L engine mag cases are prone to warping if stored with the case halves not bolted together. The post also mentioned that a line bore might be required if the case warps due to being stored in this condition.

Is this correct? If so, what is the proper method to store these cases? Is it sufficient to use just the thru-case bolls, or do all the case perimeter bolts also need to be attached? I assume all bolls should be torqued to factory specs?

Any comments on the proper storage of these cases are appreciated.
