Engine Case Numbers
 
Anyone know what these numbers on the engine cases represent? Both halves have 234 stamped on.

Not sure if there is a meaning other then to keep the case halves together. You don't want to mismatch halves between engines as they are machined together so they put matching numbers on each half. I would assume they start at a certain number and when they get to 999 they start over.
