Would someone please explain to me how early door pockets work?

1. Insert one finger to open.
2. Use two fingers to close.

You are a funny man!
Ok, let me be a bit clearer. I purchased a 1970 T and with it came assorted Door pockets. I have no clue how they are mounted or how they work. Obviously they fold out but what holds them when you close them? Is there a bungee or strap that keeps them from opening too far? I see references to lids, what do they look like? Are they fixed or do they open? |

Front pocket is fixed, rear pocket is hinged on bottom and uses a bungee. Later cars had a lid.

There is also a metal extension clip that attaches to the door.
