Correct Fuel Distributor and lines for 73.5 CIS?
1973.5 CIS Porsche 911 Targa 2.4L
original engine. I don't know if this fuel distributor is original or not however. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402845934.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402846192.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402846224.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402846243.jpg The fuel intake appears to be on a dual barb (90 deg) combined with the connection to the start valve. The other side on the left is the 4-way return to the tank. All the diagrams I've seen including my old CIS pdf don't show this configuration. There is a plugged port next to the return barb on mine that typically is supposed to be the start valve connection. And there is no dual barb on any diagram I've seen on the intake. I'm wondering if someone along the line replaced the original distributor and modified the line configuration. As is, I don't know if it will work properly. Any help? |
This appears to be a '74 2.7 Fuel Distributor...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402852793.jpg The original (in this picture 2.4 on the left, 2.7 on the right) looks somewhat different: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402852981.jpg |
I see. So it has been replaced with a 74. My concern is that the start valve is seeing the bare fuel pump pressure with that 90 deg dual barb fitting as the distributor. I don't know if this is a problem or not. The engine was running by the previous owner before the car being disassembled 25 years ago, however i don't know how well for sure. I guess I'll just roll with it for now.

That is a later fuel distributor. Original was a 0 438 100 004.
The date code 622 is from February 1976. I would think it could be adjusted to work properly with your car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1402922678.jpg |
CSV fuel supply.........

Rockreid, All the CSV in 911 CIS engines are getting fuel directly from the FP before FD. What problem/s are you having now? Keep us posted. Tony |
