Deciphering this rebuild receipt
Hi All,
I looked at a 1976 911S this afternoon. I was really trying to stay away from the mid years but this is a well kept car and was worth a look. The car has pressure fed tensioners and lots of new parts including a clutch with zero Km's on it (went into storage right after it was installed back in 2008). I snapped this photo of a receipt from the early nineties for what looks to be an engine rebuild with upgraded pistons. I see they also did the studs. I don't see any comments about case savers or anything like that so I'm wondering if anyone else might see anything remarkable here. Comments?

Hi,
It looks like they did an extensive top-end rebuild, but didn't split the case (needed to install Case Savers. I'd look to see if this car has the optional front oil cooler. You'll see the oil lines under the right side rocker panel and a trombone-looking affair in the RF fender well, in front of the tire.

Hi Steve
It does not have the optional oil cooler in the front passenger side fender. I was a bit disappointed about that. Our climate is temperate and that's a help with heat related issues but still. Last edited by SpenceRx; 06-22-2014 at 12:10 AM.. |
