Looks like an engine again. Woohoo.
My son helping with the assembly of cam towers.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1403736168.jpg
Days work. Ordered new idler sprockets so on to other activities, cleaning shroud, cleaning up trans, replacing the exhaust studs. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1403736419.jpg My wife torquing the cylinders / cam towers http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1403736711.jpg |
Please cover your ports
Besides that it looks good ! |
Yep, good call. Thanks.
|
I might also suggest keeping the cam chains somewhat taught against the intermediate shaft gears. I've had a chain slip off before and it was a pain to get it back on.
|
Congrats, I bet you can't wait to fire it up.
|
Your looking Great! You should be up and running in a week or so!
What engine is it and how is it spec. out ? |
Where are the oil return tubes???
|
I've never worked with the engine on my belly like this. Does it make it any easier?

Heinz911 - She was torquing to take the solder measurement, not final assembly.
Afterburn549 - Motor is a stock 3.0L. I had a chain tensioner fail and shaved some aluminum off of the chain box internal oil (?) shelf while breaking a number of idler sprocket teeth. I sent the cooler to pacific oil cooler. New engine harness from Timmy2 on this board. That's it. Tharbert...does your pic come out sideways on you screen? Haha I am excited to get back on the road. Will do on the chain tension. Thank you all. |

I love when the stars align and I actually get help. Tara replaced one side of the ball joints on our '86 Jag while I did the other side. She's a gear head. Pretty cool! Good luck with the refresh. Cheers, Mike.
