Rebuild 2.2T or buy a 3.2?

Hi Folks,

This winter I'll be dropping my motor and tranny to replace my 1st and 2nd gear syncro's. "while I'm in there" I'd like to at minimum refresh the 2.2T I have, but if I can find a decent 3.2 core, that might be a better route to go. Cost-wise, I've "sort of" imposed an approximate $5k budget for over-winter 911 parts, so a rebuilt ready-to-go 3.2 is probably not going to happen.

Any advice on squeezing more out of my 2.2, or should I just save my pennies?

T upgrade

Bergo, if you still have the 901 trans the 3.2 may be too much torque. A nice fix for a 2.2 T if it has to be completely rebuilt would be bore case for 2.7 p/c for a 2.5. add an E or solex cam with webers for 170 or so hp, get some 2.7 35 mm heads even better. but over your budget?. If the T runs I'd leave it stock until it needs a full rebuild. 66 mm SS strokes are fun, best

Thanks for the suggestion, appreciated!

The transmission is a 4-speed 915
