Headstud washers?
Hello all,
I need to pick up a couple headstud washers locally. Is there anything unique about them or can I just match up the size? Thanks |
They're thicker than washers meant for general use, and flatter, as well. Get the right ones and be done with it.

They're also made of hardened forged steel.. not stamped out pot metal.

Short answer - you can't pick them up locally from a hardware store. A Porsche dealer (though nowadays they'd probably have to order), or a shop which works on Porsches (may have some used ones sitting around - used is just fine). If you happen to live next door to Maryland Metric or some specialty fastener place, maybe they'd have these, but I don't think they are in any way a standard washer. Others have noted features not found in normal washers. The thickness alone puts it in the special class.

I have freshly plated head stud washers.
PM me if interested. |
I was able to find them locally. Same size and thickness, $0.70 each

Just curious and I know it's insignificant but if you rattle them around together in a small paper bag or box or drop them on a stone hard surface so they ring?
If they do they're probably forged steel like the ones Porsche used. |
We have a bunch of used ones in stock, just down the highway from you....
Cheers |
Thanks Jeff, you were my next stop but I was able to find them in Chilliwack
