Rear main seal- what brand to buy for 2.2l?
My engine is out of my car and when I took of the flywheel, I saw that the rear main was leaking. What brand of rear main seal is best? Also is there an installation tool available?
My engine is a 2.2l case with 2.7l crank Last edited by tornik550; 12-08-2014 at 06:13 PM.. |

Get the Elring seal. They are better than Reinz.

If the crank has a deep groove in it from a previous seal...you could look into Chicago-Rawhide's listings to find one that has more than one sealing lip.
Some even have a thin flange to set the depth. Bob
