It's a trap...

Is this the breather hose?
It appears to be too short. Is this the hose that goes from the breather to ???
Where does the other end go? Is this the cloth covered hose that I order by ID and OD by the meter, such as 10-0607-020-M127? Also, where does the small hose connect from that goes into the air box in the picture? Going back together. ![]() Thanks. ![]()

The large hose shown in the first picture starts at the breather fitting on the top of the crankcase and goes to the forward-most fitting on the oil tank. There may be another piece connected to it before it reaches the oil tank. The small fitting sticking down from the bottom of the airbox is a drain. If there is any liquid accumulation of oil from fumes, it will drain out from there. A hose goes from there to a drain unit attached to the tin over the oil cooler. It has a tube that protrudes through the engine tin and meets that hose. The hose shown in the last picture is one of the evaporative emissions charcoal canister hoses, and is used to draw fumes through the charcoal can and into the intake. In the last picture, it's disturbing to see the airbox perimeter screws falling out, which indicates a blown airbox. That's a whole big heaping steaming bowl of not good.

Thank you. There will be more hose and electrical questions.

The Cap'n is correct. I mistook your cloth hose for the charcoal canister hose because it is usually a smooth rubber hose between the crankcase "trinity" cap and the oil tank. It is the lower of the 2 large smooth rubber hoses on the forward passenger side of the engine.
As for the airbox screws, yes that airbox suffered a massive backfire and was photographed as part of the disassembly repair. ![]()
