I wanted to ask your opinion about which Fuel Pumps to put in my 1976 930? My 1976 930 has a 1986 3.3L engine with CIS and a European Fuel System. The car has run great for the 20 years I’ve owned it with the original/1976 front and rear fuel pumps in it but, both pumps started leaking at the same time.
You probably know that the 1976 930 uses the same exact pumps in both the front and rear - model # 930-608-111-01-OEM but, these pumps are virtually non-existent or extremely expensive if I can find/get them.
At this point, my mechanic found 1977 930 fuel pumps and wants to put them on the car.
front - model #930-608-102-00-M14 rear - model #930-608-113-00-M14
But, my question is, since the car is a 1976 930 with a 1986 3.3L CIS European Fuel System engine in it, do you think the mechanic should be installing fuel pumps for a 1986 930 instead of a 1977 930? The car doesn't have anything on it that is 1977. The model numbers of the 1986 pumps are:
front - model #930-608-102-02-M14 rear - model #930-608-113-00-M14 (the 1986 rear pump is the same model # (same pump) as the 1977 930 fuel pump). Any help or guidance would be GREATLY appreciated.
