noob with a few questions on 930

Hello,
I've been lurking on here for several months in preparation for rebuilding my Minerva Blue sunroof delete 930 with 80k miles. I bought it in 92 after having a 944 and am the 3rd owner. It is in very nice all original condition both outside and inside with the exception of stone chips on the front. When I bought the car I dropped the engine for a valve adjustment, new oil return tubes, plugs, valve cover gaskets, rebuild of the stock K26 and general clean up. The reactors had already been replaced with manifolds and all the emission crap removed which I have in a box. A few years ago I replaced the rear stub axle bearings and front wheel bearings. The heads have never been off but it's time for a rebuild due to numerous leaks, although none from the case joint. My intentions are to keep the CIS but go with a BL WUR, performance K27, probably rarely8 headers, SC cams, probably R8 fuel head rebuild and full bay IC and AFR readout. I am not after mega HP, 350-375 rwhp would be nice. Here are my questions at this point:

1) after reading about the controversy re. gluing the main webs I've come to the conclusion that I'm asking for trouble by doing this since this is my first 911 rebuild. My solution is to just have the cases shuffle pinned and don't glue the webs. Does that sound right and is it really necessary for my intended use ie. higher performance street?
2) Assuming the factory pistons and jugs mic ok can I reuse the no top fin jugs or should I spring for new fully finned ones?

I won't start this for a couple months yet. I have a nicely equipped shop (lathe, press, MIG, TIG, inoperative Excello 602 mill, drill press, etc, etc.) I've done several automotive, bike and snowmobile engines but this will be the first Porsche. My last rebuild was a Cummins 4 cyl diesel which is kind of like blacksmith work compared to a 911 but you still have to follow the basics. Thanks and look forward to contributing what I can.

Welcome to the board,

1. No need for case modifications but add good rod and head stud hardware to your list.
2. Stock pistons and cylinders are perfectly fine as well.

You may want to post your questions over in the 930 turbocharging forum for more answers.

Ok thanks.
I guess I should have put it on the other board. Yes, I'm planning on using ARP rod fasteners and most likely Supertec studs
