Modern suspension options

Hi all,
When replacing my Bilsteins I started wondering why it is that no one has tried to truly build a modern suspension aftermarket kit that brings performance enhancements like magnetic dampening etc to our old Porsches.

I'm not talking about custom builds, of course owners do that type of thing all the time, but instead thinking about taking the most modern tech available and engineering it to fit a long hood, an SC, 964 etc.

Same with things like (defeatable) ABS.

Some may differ with why one would want such a setup, but anyone have any thoughts on the general topic? (This being an Internet message board, I'm thinking there are some opinions.)

My thought would be to try the 911 tech board.
A suspension thread in the engine rebuilding forum might not make it far.

Because there's no point in using the latest tech on an archaic chassis. If you want that stuff you should be looking to adapt GT3 front and rear subframes or even custom A-arms, then you would also be able to use PASM presumably and ABS, etc.

Or just buy a new GT3- cheaper than building your own.

I believe that the 911 torsion bar suspension and its associated links and geometries were/are incompatible with the needs of systems like ABS and others.
This is one of the reasons they finally went away in the 964/993 era.

Plenty of people have considered magnetically damped, adjustable shocks, however the cost of development & manufacture is staggering and truly non-recoverable for these cars. I have hours of stories about this and it would fill pages here.

ABS systems require suspensions with negative scrub radius and thats not possible on a '65-'89 911 without a total redesign & re-manufacture of the chassis and suspension system (something they did on the 964).

While everything here comprise admirable objectives and goals, the sheer economics prevent this from happening.
