Pelican Parts Launches its Redesigned Porsche Parts Catalog
I like it! Most sites don't put the part mfg so you never know what your going to get especially with VW parts:
Did I hear a phone app is in the works??

As I mentioned to Wayne before, most people hate change but it will work out.
I already had to mentioned to a few people that they do not have to select a year when they are prompt to, but rather select a model which is below. May have to do to the size of the screen its display on (being cut-off). Meanwhile, have a cold one: ![]()

OK, here is one that baffle me.
In the old days, if I copy the web link from the PP catalog the post would have the "Part name" as the link. Now your guess would as good as mine... Here is what is displayed for a link to Euromeister Rims... Pelican Parts - European Automotive Parts and Accessories - Porsche • BMW • Mercedes • Volkswagen • Audi • Saab • Volvo • MINI

I don't like the fact, that Pelican wants me to choose a car everytime I search for parts. Wanna see sometimes different ones to compare

I find this feature, as a default, to be annoying. My car has a '71 chassis, a '72 trans, a '78 motor, a '84 oil tank, Carrera tensioners, etc etc etc. I know you are supposed to be able to "bypass" this feature, but my searches still only show me stuff for a '78! I guess I need to clear my cookies? Just now, I clicked on Parts and accessories. In this screen I see "choose a recent car year or model", on the other side I see "choose a year"? So this screen will be eliminated? I just now type in the search "rear wheel bearing". I only see results for 65 to 73 911, why is that?

One of the Pelican staff posted a link to the old style catalog, but i can't find it now.
If I go to "Porsche" at the top, then "911 and 912 Parts", then select the model (generation), and hit "no thanks" when the year/model window pops up, it takes me to the catalog with parts from all years (of that generation) They seem to have gotten rid of the different fuel injection sections, which is kind of annoying to me.

NOTE: You have not selected a year / model for your Porsche - in order to see better results, please Click Here to select your specific vehicle and refine your search.

This may be out of the realm of possibilities, due to the software being used.
When I seached just now for main bearing I get 115+ results. Everything in the catalog (only 65 to 73 again) that is a main or bearing shows up. If I go to say ebay, I can search for "Porsche 911 main bearing '78" and that is what I will see. I'm guessing the software Pelican uses does not allow such precise searches. Rant over. Keep up the good work, BTW.
