993 cam tower damage

Are these fixable? or do they need to be replaced?

I don't know the complete history of this engine, but I suspect it suffered a rod bearing failure.

This is the second time I have found post engine rebuild that the rebuilder
did not take apart the cam towers and debris damaged the journals.
The first was on my 951 engine.

thanks,

Mike

The last picture is bad... I'd try sourcing replacements to be safe. If you owned a machine shop and could fix in your down time then it might be worthwhile. Paying to fix probably isn't economical.

Replace them.

Those are now doorstops.

Thanks -- that is what I was expecting :-(
