Recommendations, long block for early 930 build

I need some help from more experienced engine builders with a project I am working on. I have a mostly complete intake system for a 1975/76 930 turbo Carrera. I would like to build a spare engine using these components but I'm not sure what would be the most compatible. I was thinking ab0ut using a 911 SC 3.0L long block or possibly a 930 3.3L long block.

The 911 SC 3.0L long block would give me the shorter stroke crank 70.4mm for a SS engine, could use with 3.3L P&C to give 3.2 SS engine.

A 930 long block would have the turbo oil scavenge pump and possible other 930 specific parts that I would not have to source later.

Any information or leads to informative threads would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Rahl

Early 930 3.0L engine build

I was thinking the 911 SC long block with 930 3.3 P&C might be the best path. That would give me the lower CR, larger displacement(3.2), SC cams and a shorter stroke crankshaft(70.4mm).

The case on the 930 3.3 might be a better case, I'm not sure about that though... I know that a lot of racing engine builders like the early 3.0L 930 case but I don't know the real difference between the two. Anyone know the difference in these engine cases?

My goal would be to get 300whp engine. Ideally I would eventually build a complete 1975 930 3.0L clone around this engine and use a 915 transmission.

Additional early 930 engine build input welcome.

Thanks,

Rahl
