				Cam Gear Flange doesn't fit

I'm installing some 964 cams in my 3.2, and having trouble with the left side cam gear flange. It is a tight fit, and will not slide over the end of the cam. (The right cam is fine, and swapping flanges makes no difference) Is there a good way to get these to fit? Should i just take some emery cloth to the inside surface of the flange? And I presume I may need to remove the flange to adjust the sprocket alignment, so it shouldn't be extremely tight, correct?

Yes, I have a pair of 964 that are aftermarket billets an I have to take them in to polish down to slide the backing gear on and off. When I opened the engine I had to use fire to expand and slide off. Bruce | ||

I guess i'll have to measure and see what the difference in diameter between the left and right cam is. I have the thrust plates on, so I'd rather not pull the cam out (the Curil T will be a PITA to clean up), but i suppose that might be the best thing to do.
