Are these the original valve springs from a '78 SC?

If they are the original springs from 1978 you should throw them away. Right around that time there was a bad batch of springs that were prone to breaking. These (78-79) SC spring were the only stock Porsche 911 spring that were prone to breaking.

Well, knowing that my '78 was one of the motors with the suspected valve springs, I was hoping that a PO had already replaced them.

I guess no such luck, so replacements will be on my list.

I bought a set of those for my rebuild. Still can't believe they are only $70.
