Engine is in. Waiting for new rotors purchased here and the first fire. Firing this weekend! Sooo ready for this. Checking every thing again. I put four quarts of oil in to check for leaks overnight and when my new rotor come in Friday I'll do first fire Saturday. Wish me luck...

You don't need luck. You got this!

I've been posting about niggling problems with the initial start up. The twin spade connector I read about using with the hi torque starter melted the insulation on the CSV wire. That's disconnected. I have a post on the tech forum about some unconnected hoses that I've yet to get help on. I think the dizzy is off a gear. I'm working on it tonight with some phone help from Timmy2 (Dennis) to try to get rid of any electrical bugaboos. grrrr. Thanks for watching out for me. SmileWavy

Any luck with the start up?

Speed

We're you able to get the engine to start and run? Keep us posted.

No Tony I was not. I checked each wire for spark. I checked each injector, minus the cold start. I got it loose but can't get it out to test it. How does one do that? I was up till 12:30 last night trying to get it to a point where I could get a bottle on it.

Speed,

We're you referring to the CSV?

Yes, but it doesn't matter anymore. I'm done. Dropping it at a local wrench on Sunday. He'll start looking at it Monday. I've thrown in the towel. Thanks to all who have helped along the entire rebuild. Hopefully I'll be driving my car next week.

Here is the final post in another thread to close the loop...again thanks tons...
Hello all, I finally got my car back. What an experience. After FD back, needed valve adjust. Shop cleaned fuel tank, but not good enough. Debris clogged in tank strainer. Pull tank and flush again. Then vacuum leak... Anyway, it appears it was nothing I did on the rebuild, thankfully. Vacuum leak from reassembly after FD installation? So I'm driving it. Thank you for all the help these last two years. Trans and engine rebuild along with numerous other projects I couldn't have done on my own.
Car purchase....$10,000

Advice from this board... Well, you know. [img]
