Two down one to go.........

What it has been during the winter time when our cars went to hibernation was a memorable time for me. Being able to work in my basement and spent time with the family was an enjoyable experience. Rebuilding engines side by side and one after the other was never planned or intended. This was the result of our two-month travel abroad and my commitment for completion and start-ups were set back several weeks behind schedule.

Next would be to gather and collect the CIS components. Complete the installation and perform the start-ups. Engines would be ran and tested on my home-made engine test stand. Then turn over the engines to their respective owners. The '83 SC engine on the left is scheduled for late fall or early winter exercise. The more you do this engine rebuild projects, the easier they become. Practice makes you better.

Are you going to wait and hoist them all out of your basement at the same time?

Speed,

The two (2) rebuilt engines were brought up from my basement last week 2 days before my medical surgery. The thread about moving a 400-lb. engine to/from a basement was posted after I brought them up. And was just curious how other people would move a 400 lb. engine safely by a single person specially a senior citizen with a bad back and bum knee. It took me many hours of planning and testing to do this 10-minute job of getting the 400 lb. engine out of the basement.

As you can see from the picture, it is a carport. I am extending it to accommodate another car to make it to a three-car carport/garage.

Yeah, I read that thread. Didn't put two and two together though. Cool hoist by the way. Kinda like they used in some copper mines in the U. P.
